Small abodes are the smallest buildings of Black & White, requiring only a single scaffold to be constructed. The building itself requires 1500 wood, making the total cost (including scaffold) 4000 wood.
They don't vary in capacity like large abodes, always providing shelter for two villagers.
Upon reaching a certain limit, the player will be unable to build large abodes until more small abodes are constructed, thus making this building as vital as any other.
