The worship site is where villagers gather to sing and dance, producing prayer power. As part of the temple, it changes form to match the player's alignment.

To add worshippers, raise the totem on the village center of the desired village, or, dropping a villager at the main entrance of the site will automatically raise the totem at their village enough for one more worshipper.

Parts of the site[]

  • Tribe totem - shows which tribe will worship at this site; different villages of the same tribe all worship at the same site.
  • Altar - shows how much power is stored and is where sacrifices happen.
    • The bigger the aura around this, the more power is stored.
    • The more worshippers there are, the more power they can store (this limit only applies to power produced by worship).
    • If the aura is flashing, the power is decreasing faster than the worshippers can produce it.
    • Hovering over this shows the power stored as a number.
    • Dropping villagers, dead villagers, animals, dead animals, or plants on this sacrifices them for more prayer power.
    • Casting miracles on this can store their prayer power, if this site can cast the miracle.
      • This can be used to move power between two sites when they can both cast the same miracle.
      • Can also be used to harvest the power from miracles seeds.
      • Only works if the miracle has not been partially cast, for miracles like food, wood, water, lightning, etc.
  • Food pile - inside the left wall, shows how much food is stored in the site; drop or cast food here to add more.
    • Animals can be dropped here to turn them into food, but be careful to not miss the pile when dropping predators.
  • Miracle wall - shows which miracles are provided by this site, tapping the miracle symbol toggles whether it is being charged.
  • Main entrance - this gap in the middle of the wall is where villagers enter the site to begin worshipping.
    • Dropping a villager here will raise their village's totem enough for one more worshipper (even if the dropped villager was already worshipping).
  • Side entrance - to the right of the main entrance, where lazy villagers that don't want to worship hide.
    • The pole next to this shows how many are hiding here, they can also be seen by pressing S to show villager status tooltips.
  • Desire flags - left of main entrance
    • Food - the worshippers need more food. Represented by a man pointing at his own mouth.
    • Rest - the worshippers' health is low. This can be solved either by lowering the village totem so they can sleep or casting a healing miracle on the worshippers that need it. Represented by a bed and Z letters.

Trivia[]

  • A sign on Land 2 states that decorating a worship site increases it's power, but it's not clear whether that means the stored limit, the rate power is produced, or both.
  • Pressing F1 while pointing at any part of the site (except the miracles, food, or flags) will display which tribe it belongs to.
  • Pressing F1 on either desire flag will display what it means, but unlike the village store flags, this doesn't display a more precise number.
  • There is no F1 help text for the indicator of how many villagers are hiding in the side entrance.
  • If the villages of one tribe provide more than six different miracles, more wall segments are added beyond the main wall.
  • There are unused text lines in the game files about villagers carrying food to the worship site.
  • The limit for stored prayer power from sacrifice or casting miracles on the altar is probably that of a 32 bit integer, so might be either 2,147,483,647 or 4,294,967,295.
