Eden is the fictional world where both Black & White games take place. It is depicted in the opening cutscene as a planet located within one of the many universes. Eden is very similar to real-life planet Earth, orbiting one sun and having one moon.
Eden is inhabited by humans and real-life animals, such as wolves, cows and horses, but it is also the home of the Creatures: powerful, near-divine beings and a central element of Black & White games. Eden is also the place where gods struggle for dominance over the tribes. In the first game, Eden is depicted as a peaceful, paradise-like world, where villagers have no weapons and coexist peacefully with different tribes.
At the end of Black & White, the player leaves Eden and returns after a long while to find that much has changed. The villagers are now more technologically advanced (somewhere around real life Iron Age). Weapons and armies now exist and villages have been replaced by larger, more complex cities. Different civilizations make war with one another and the Aztec are the dominating power of the world.
